Obituary

Mamie Hewitt, 103, died Wednesday March 7, 2012 in the Berrien Nursing Center.

She was born February 11, 1909 in Berrien County to the late W.E. Clanton and the late Effie Jane McNabb. She was a homemaker and member of Flat Creek Church. She was the widow of Willie "Bill" Hewitt who died in 1972. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: J.P. Sutton, 3 sisters: Ruby Langley, Verdie Rice, and Thelma Griner; 6 brothers: Clarence, Floyd, Daniel, G.H., William "Duck", and Gene Clanton.

She is survived by a daughter: Letha Sutton of Nashville; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 9, 2012 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
