Marcia Kay
Harris
November 21, 1953 – August 11, 2019
Marcia Kay Roberts Harris, 65, of Nashville died Sunday August 11, 2019 at her residence.
She was born November 21, 1953 in Irwin County to Joyce Stinson Roberts and the late Marcus F. "M. F." Roberts. Marcia Roberts Harris married Jimmy Harris on July 30, 1972 and were happily married for 47 years. Marcia attended ABAC after graduating from Berrien County High School majoring in Business Administration. She shortly secured employment in the banking community and was employed in banking for 48 years and retired with Farmers and Merchants Bank. Marcia loved her family and enjoyed being with them and doing things for them. This was her heart and life. The best way to describe her ; it was always about others. She was a kind, quiet and humble lady. She enjoyed doing anything for Jim, her son, and Kadience, her granddaughter. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, playing the piano, traveling to the mountains and cooking. Christmas baking was her favorite. She baked for hours preparing all the family favorite pastries and dishes.
Marcia accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and served him faithfully all her life. Marcia will best be remembered for all the beautiful flowers and vegetables she grew. But the best memory was the way she loved.
She is survived by her husband: Jimmy Harris of Nashville; son: Jim Harris of Nashville; granddaughter: Kadience; mother: Joyce Stinson Roberts of Alapaha; 2 sisters: Nancy (Gerald) Redman of Ocilla and Leshia (Jeff) Lewis of Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 13, 2019 at 2 pm in Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin Co. with the Rev. R. T. Castleberry officiating; Nancy Redman, sister of Marcia, will present the eulogy. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. There is no formal visitation.
