Margaret Ann White, 64, of Adel, died Wednesday May 3, 2017 at her residence.
She was born February 11, 1953 in Atkinson County to the late Dewey Rowe and the late Lady Bell Walker. She was a homemaker and one of the first certified woman fire fighter's in Atkinson County. She served for Atkinson County Rescue Unit and was a state certified rescue specialist. She was past director of the Red Cross in Atkinson County and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Shirley Cook and Sue Whitley; brother: Jimmy Rowe.
She is survived by her husband: Aulton H. White II of Adel; 3 daughters: Brenda Herring of Nashville, Jennifer White of Tallahassee, FL and Melissa Johnson of Adel; son: Timothy Rowe of McCrae; 2 brothers: Bobby Rowe of Alapaha and Jackie Rowe of Pavo; 4 grandchildren: Megan Southerland, Mitchell Southerland, William A. Johnson and Bill Ashley; 3 other grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family will honor her request for cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
