Mel Marie Watson, 83, of Nashville, died Friday August 20, 2021 in the SGMC Berrien Campus.

She was born September 25, 1937 in Berrien County to the late Early Collins and the late Alda Mae Fender Collins. She was a homemaker and member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of William Elisha "Bill" Watson who died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: David Watson and Charles Watson, 2 sisters and a brother.

She is survived by 2 sons: Bobby (Donna) Watson of Nashville and Travis Watson of Nashville; brother: Wendell Collins of Starke, FL; 4 grandchildren: Michelle Davis, Mellisa Watson, Chris Watson and Amanda Thacker; 7 great grandchildren: Tristen Vickers, Hayden Thacker, Carter Watson, Blake Davis, John Carver Davis, Esme Watson and Rainer Watson.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday August 23, 2021 at 11 AM in the Empire Cemetery with the Rev. Scott King officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
