Marilyn Browning Barker, 77, of Ray City, died Saturday February 12, 2022 at the Fellowship Home in Valdosta.
She was born February 6, 1945 in Berrien County to the late L.S. Browning and the late Mary Bruce Browning. She retired with civil service at Moody AFB in 2006 after more than 30 years and was once named the Civilian of the Year. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ray City and faithfully sang in the church choir for many years. She was the widow of Charles Henry "Charlie" Barker who died in 2019 and was also preceded in death by her step mother: Betty Browning and a sister: Frankie Hall.
She is survived by her daughter: Michelle Moffett (Derek Shaw) of Lake Park; grandson: Grayson Charles Moffett; sister: Judy Crawford of Atlanta; 2 brothers: Johnny (Barbara) Browning of Alapaha and Jerry (Kris) Browning of Alapaha; special friend: Nell Walden of Adel; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 15, 2022 at 3 PM in the First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Charles Corn officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaver Dam cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Ray City or the charity of choice.
