Martha Ellen Guthrie Chambers, 71, of Nashville, GA died Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

She was Born July 26, 1948 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Roy and Ruby Rowan Guthrie. She was a receptionist for Dr. Williams, Dr. Carter, Dr. Richbourg, and Dr. Nash for over thirty years collectively. The greatest love of her life was her family. She was a member of the Guthrie Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Roy Guthrie, Jr., Jonathan Guthrie, Phillip Guthrie, and Harry Guthrie.

She is survived by three daughters, Michele (Dean) Sorrell of Hahira, Kim (Ashley) Lane of Lakeland, and Karen Mathis of Nashville; son, Gene Mathis of Nashville; brother, Stephen Guthrie of Middleburg, FL; eleven grandchildren, Jessica (Derek) O'Neal, Jake Jones, Blake Wynne, Victoria Mathis, Rachel Mathis, Garret Lane, Tessa Camp, Halleigh Lane, Natalie Grace Lane, Tristan Mathis, and Emery Ellen Lane; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also a great lover of animals and leaves behind her three dogs and a cat.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Hughes and Rev. Mark Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville
