Mary Melvin Nelms, 78, of Nashville, died Monday May 8, 2023 at the Vista Park in Douglas.

She was born November 21, 1944 in Lanier County to the late John Collier Melvin and the late Eunice Virginia Richardson Melvin. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by 2 husbands; 3 sisters: Faye Hendley, Birdie LeDoux and Colleen Hartson; 3 brothers: Lamar Melvin, Joseph Melvin and Henry Melvin; son-in-law: William Kelly.

She is survived by her daughter: Sabrina Johnson of Tifton; son: Donnell (Sabrina) Atkins of Nashville; sister: Jo Ann Ghan of Utah; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Her family will honor her request for cremation and a memorial service will be held later in Mudd Creek cemetery.
