Maureen Theresa Powell, 74, of Macon, formerly of Nashville, died Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Pine Pointe Hospice Care in Macon.

She was born July 19, 1941 in Oxford, England to the late Martin McDonagh and the late Maureen Monaghan McDonagh. She was a homemaker and was previously employed with the Nashville Alternative Service Center. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the widow of William Thomas "Tim" Powell IV. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Linda Eileen Powell, a sister and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter: Carri (William) Heinz of Macon; 3 sisters: Kathleen Smith, Dolly McDonagh and Barbara McCallister all of Oxford, England; 2 brothers, Colleen McDonagh and Shaun McDonagh both of Oxford, England; 3 grandchildren: Charles Clement of Dawsonville, Dylan and Carson Heinz of Macon; mother-in-law: Gwynette Powell of Nashville; sister-in-law, Betsy (Michael) Purvis of Alapaha; 2 brothers-in-law, Flint Powell of Nashville and David Powell of Homerville. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 9, 2016 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Father Freddie Angel and Rev. Scott King officiating. Interment will follow in North Cemetery at Dupont. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service.
