Obituary

Marion Max Murphy, 85, of Nashville died Monday February 26, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 29, 1932 in Colquitt County, GA to the late Frank Murphy and the late Bernice Beasley Murphy.  He retired as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the J.H. Harvey Company and a member of Nashville United Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: James Frank Murphy and Russell Murphy; and the mother of his children: Ruby Taylor Murphy.

He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Moore Murphy of Nashville; 4 daughters: Kay (Lynn) Hunter of Hahira, Debbie (Don) Darby of Hahira, Tina ( Paul) Bennett of Palatka, FL and Joy Whitten of Brunswick; 2 step daughters: Patti (Craig) Henry of Merritt Island, FL and Lisa (Tim) Lewis of Rocky Mount, NC; step son: Bud (Debbie) Moore of West Berrien; 12 grandchildren: Ranse, Rhett, Kristi, Brack, Roxanne, John, Max, Christina, Parker, Kelli, Bailey and Amelia; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 4 sisters: Bootsie Ricks, Joyce Hopkins, Faye Murphy and Bonnie Murphy all of Moultrie; 2 brothers: Neil Murphy of Moultrie and Gerald Murphy of Calhoun.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 2, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is Thursday 6-8 PM.  Memorials are requested to the Georgia Sheriffs Boy's Ranch in Hahira, 5671 Boys Ranch Rd. Hahira, GA 31632.
