Mazella Bennett, 88, of Nashville, died Tuesday January 20, 2015 in the Crestwood Nursing Center.
She was born November 13, 1926 in Berrien County to the late Arthur James and the late Lillie Mae Jones James. She was a homemaker and retired agent with Bennett Insurance Agency. She was also associated with Bennett-Taylor Drugs and Mazie's Jewelers. She was a member of the Nashville First United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Dr. Buoie Bennett and was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Everett James and Roy James.
She is survived by her daughter: Shirley (Jim) Hodges of Valdosta; son: Rondal (Carol) Tomberlin of Nashville; step daughter: Zona Bennett McGuirt of Greenville, SC; sister: Mary Ruth Medley of Nashville; 4 grandchildren: Jil (Brad) Trower, Joel (Beth) Hodges, Amanda (Frank) Barnett, and Ryan (Mandy) Tomberlin; 12 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday January 23, 2015 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary James officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials to the Alzeimer's Association.
