Melanie Evonne "Mel" Hughes Blount, 26, of Nashville, died Tuesday May 4, 2021 at her residence.

She was born July 11, 1994 in Lowndes County to Melvin Eugene Blount and Rachel Evonne Hughes. She was employed with the Nashville Dairy Queen and of the Baptist faith. She was very outgoing, loved her family and friends so much and was a graduate of Berrien High School Class of 2012. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Robert and Kathleen Hughes and paternal grandparents: Leroy and Eula Blount.

She is survived by her mother and step father: Evonne and Dewayne Sellers of Nashville; father and step mother: Melvin and Lisa Blount of Nashville; sister: Rachel (Andrew) Powell of Alapaha; special niece: Emma Grace Powell; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 11, 2021 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 7 to 9 PM in the funeral home.
