Michael
Danforth
January 15, 1965 – February 13, 2026
Michael Emerson Danforth, 61, of Enigma, died Friday, February 13, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 15, 1965, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Emerson Waldoft Danforth and the late Bertie Elizabeth Stewart Danforth. He was a cotton inspector with the USDA, definitely one of a kind and a friend to many. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting, fishing and his garden. When he was farming, his favorite thing to do was picking cotton. He was a lifelong motorcyclist and loved "striking out" on his Harley. In the fall and winter, he would always be found sitting by the fire and in the summer, he could be found on a beach all day; hence, he loved a good tan. Bullet was his constant companion, always on his hip or peeking out from a jacket. He was preceded in death by a sister: Yvetta Kimmell and a brother: Roger Dale Danforth.
He is survived by his wife: Dana Hickman Danforth of Enigma; daughter: Bree (Michael) Connell of Nashville; 3 sons: Brint Danforth of Nashville, Hunter (Maria) Danforth of Thomasville and Jackson Danforth of Enigma; 2 grandchildren: Mac and Colton; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Glenn and Alicia Hickman of Alapaha.
A graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 2 PM in the Enigma City cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday in the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
