Obituary

Mildred Mae Barnes, 83, of Nashville, Ga died Friday September 12, 2014 in the Lakehaven Nursing Center.

She was born May 20, 1931 in Clay County Alabama to the late Reubin Laney and the late Lennie Gay Baker. She was a homemaker and a retired housekeeper with the Florida Lions Camp in Lake Wales, FL. She was a member of Lake Wales Free Holiness Church and the widow of Alford Charles Barnes who died in 2005. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Janice (Jerry) Hamby of Fort Payne, Al, Pamela (Carl) Hass of Nashville, Ga, Carolyn (Tony) Hancock of Nashville, Ga, and Melissa Smith of Frostproof, Fl; 2 sons: Charles "Buddy" (Debbie) Barnes of Manila, Ar and Anthony Barnes of Davenport, Fl; 2 sisters: Inez Conners of Lake Wales, Fl and Judy Smith of Trenton, Ga; brother: John Laney of Flat Rock, Al; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Williams officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday September 16, 2014 in Lake Wales, Fl City Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be on Sunday from noon until time of service.
