Nancy Sue "Grammy" Smart, 95, of Nashville, died Saturday August 31, 2024, at her residence.

She was born October 25, 1928, in Franklin County, NY to the late W. Eugene LaMoy and the late Pauline McManus LaMoy. She was a homemaker, member of Flat Creek Church and attended Jacob's Well. She was an avid reader, loved to knit, crochet, do crossword puzzles, playing dominos and clogging. She loved her family, church, taught Sunday School for years, volunteered for VBS and helping the youth. She will always be remembered as "Grammy" and her huge smile. She was the widow of Albert Smart and was also preceded in death by a daughter: Doris Valdez; grandson: Ronnie Ash.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Sue (Ed) Ash of Nashville and Linda (Jimi) Smart Corber of Rockport, TX; 4 sons: Mark (Carol) Smart of Nashville, Frank (Joy Lynn) Smart of Nashville, Neil (Michele) Smart of Coal Creek Canyon, CO and Jerry Smart of Longview, TX; 14 grandchildren: Traci (David) Bjella, Albert (Rachel) Smart III, Tikia Smart, Christian (Jacorey) Bell, Lisa (Brandon) Tank, John Valdez, Kevin (Jessica) Smart, Jason (Melissa) Smart, Sharee (Kelly) Smart, Trish (B.J. Hampton) Colding, Tori Smart, Jennifer Ford, Chiara Smart and Elwynn Smart;  29 great grandchildren, a great great grandson; special granddaughter-in-love: Hope Carver; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 4, 2024 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey, Rev. Blair Joiner and Rev. Daniel Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Special thanks to the staff of The Guardian for their love and care and to Tift Area Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Jacob's Well Youth.
