Nelson Tucker, 84, of Alapaha died Wednesday August 19, 2020 in the Berrien Nursing Center.

He was born February 23, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Robert Tucker and the late Faitha Webb Tucker.  He was a retired police chief for the Town of Alapaha, the City of Nashville and was employed with J. P. Stevens in Tifton.  He was a member of Mt. Paron Church and was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife: Lucy Luke Tucker of Alapaha; 2 sons: Danny (Belinda) Tucker of Alapaha and Robin Tucker of Alapaha; daughter: Monica (Mike) Dieas of Enigma; 2 sisters: Lillie Solomon of Tifton and Janie Brogdon of Alapaha; three brothers: Bud Tucker, Frank Tucker, and Elder Robert Tucker all of Alapaha; five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday August 21, 2020 at 11 AM in the Mt. Paron Cemetery with Elder Robert Tucker officiating.
