Novera Fender Thackston, 81, of Nashville died Wednesday September 23, 2020 at SGMC - Berrien Campus.

She was born August 18, 1939 in Atkinson County to the late Allen Summerlin and the late Alma Bowen.  She retired from Shaw Industries in Cartersville as a loom operator.  She was a member of Ruth Forester Missionary Baptist Church and she truly loved her church family.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Robert Fender and Charles Thackston; son: Johnny Fender; two brothers: Mack Summerlin and Allen Summerlin; grandson: Jessie Fender.

She is survived by a daughter: Brenda (Jimmy) Ball of Cartersville; three sons: Marshall Fender of Nashville, Stanley Fender of Nashville and Michael Fender of Marietta; four grandchildren: Johnathan Fender, Jessica Ball, Jimmy (Claire) Ball, Jr. and Anthony Fender; three sisters: Betty Sue Denny of Tifton, Annie Garren of Cartersville and Clara Faye Bennett of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 26, 2020 at 2 PM in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Williams officiating.   Interment will follow in the Antioch Church Cemetery.   Visitation will be Friday 7 to 9 PM.
