Alice Othell Purvis, 77, of Alapaha, died Wednesday September 28, 2022 at her residence.

She was born May 13, 1945 in Berrien County to the late Gertley Alexander and the late Alice Griner Alexander. She was a homemaker and member of the Alapaha Baptist Church. She loved her family, the Lord and was the widow of John Keith Purvis who died in 2013. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Marie Alexander and Marm Spires; brother: O.G. Alexander.

She is survived by her daughter: Daphne (LaWayne) Taylor of Nashville; son: Keith (ReeJeana) Purvis of Alapaha; 6 grandchildren: Bryce Phillips, Kade Purvis, Ryder Taylor, Gunner Taylor, Hunner Taylor and Tunner Taylor; 2 great grandchildren: Tyson and Ripp Taylor; 2 sisters: Elouise (Clarence) Iverson of Newnan and Jackie Smith of Valdosta; brother: Darrell (Ernestine) Alexander of Nashville; special sister-in-law: Betty Purvis of Alapaha; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday October 1, 2022 at 2 PM in the Glory cemetery with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
