Patrick John "Pat" Costello, 81, of Nashville died Friday August 10, 2018 at his residence.

He was born June 13, 1937 in Erie, PA to the late Michael Costello and the late Helen Wagner Costello.  He retired from the US Army as a Lt. Col. after 31 years of service.  He was an artillery officer, a graduate of the U. S. Army Command General Staff College and served in Vietnam.  He also was in the Pennsylvania National Guard and transferred to active Army duty prior to his service in Vietnam.  He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia Ann "Pat" Parrish Costello of Nashville; 2 daughters: Mary Ann (Carl) Hand of Valdosta and Michelle Louise (Antonio) Alevizopoulos of South Hampton, NY; 2 sons: Patrick Gregory (Rosemary) Costello of Snellville and Shawn Patrick Costello of New Hampshire; 6 grandchildren: Lindsay, Loren, Catie, Colleen, Kelly and Thomas; a great grandson: Nolan; and a brother: Michael Costello, Jr. of Santa Fe, NM.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday August 15, 2018 at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Fredy Angel officiating.  Cremation will follow the service. A Rosary service will be held Tuesday at 6 PM in the chapel with visitation following until 8 PM.  Memorials are requested to the building fund for St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 2530 Garner Rd.
