Pearlie A. Nash, 96, of Nashville died December 31, 2012 in the Berrien County Hospital.
He was born January 9, 1916 in Irwin County (Springhill Community) to the late Charlie Nash and the late Martha Ann Harper. He was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Civil Service with Moody AFB as a mechanic. He also worked for various car dealers as an inspector. He truly loved working in his yard with flowers and received the Yard of the Month in June of 2002. He also enjoyed NASCAR. He married Marie Metts on November 9, 1946 and were married for 58 years until her death on February 24, 2005. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Osie Nash and Lonnie Nash; 2 sisters: Mary Jane Nash Parker and Fannie Nash Johnson.
He is survived by a sister: Blannie Nash McEwen of Salem, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 5, 2013 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery in Irwin County. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
