Rancil C. Taylor, 77, of the West Berrien Community, died Tuesday May 1, 2012 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 6, 1934 in Berrien County to the late Martin Taylor and the late Maliscia Holloway Taylor. He sang gospel music for years, was a farmer, and retired from Chaparral Boats as a truck driver. He was a member of Vickers Church and an Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by a son: Leslie Taylor and 3 brothers: James Taylor, Reuben Taylor, and Riley Taylor.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Hiers (Liz) Taylor of West Berrien; 4 daughters: Bobbie and Wiley (Tiley) Delk of Lakeland, Sophie Taylor Oliver, Rhonda (Mike) Hand, and Beth (Bobby) Coleman all of West Berrien; son: Rancil Michael (Jimmy) and Charlene Taylor of Lockport, LA; 31 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; 2 darling puppies: Bud and Minnie who were his babies; 7 beloved sisters: Trudy McNabb, Gertrude Barber, Grace Friar, Josephine Joyce, Geraldine Champa, Rudine Schmittou, and Ruth Harris all of West Berrien.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 4, 2012 at 5 PM in Vickers Church with the Rev. Ronnie Lawson, Rev. Raymond Cason, and Mr. Carl Pafford officiating. Interment will follow in the Vickers Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 7 to 9 PM.
