Gerold Ray Peele, 82, of West Berrien died Wednesday December 19, 2018 at his residence.

He was born October 15, 1936 in Cook County to the late William Harold Peele and the late Mattie Maude Shannon Peele.  He was the third generation farmer and co-owner of Peele Farms, former fire chief of the West Berrien Fire Department and was a member of Union Grove Church of God where he taught Sunday School for 35 years and served as church clerk for 20 years.  He was the widower of Aneta Williams Peele who died in 2011 and was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Peele and brother-in-law: Dan Groselle.

He is survived by 2 sons: Gerold Ray (Olga) Peele, Jr. of West Berrien and Mark (Carmen) Peele of West Berrien; 2 grandchildren: Gerry Peele and Kelly Peele; 3 step grandchildren: McKenzie Garner, Blake Greene and Dawson Greene; 3 sisters: Florence (Harris) Crumley, Martha Jean Groselle and Wilda (Tommy) Dorman all of Eldorado.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 22, 2018 at 2 PM in the Union Grove Church of God with the Rev. Todd Garner, Rev Danny Ray and Rev. Billy Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 PM at Union Grove Church of God.
