R.C. Thompson, 89, of Nashville, died Saturday December 2, 2017 at his residence.
He was born August 3, 1928 in Smithville, MS to the late Luther Thompson and the late Bessie Hathcock Thompson. He was a retired logger, member of Hope Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Wanda Gail Thompson; grandson: Shane Thompson; brother: J.C. Thompson.
He is survived by his wife: Lavenia Benefield Thompson of Nashville; 2 daughters: Lynn (John) Crosby of Nashville and Deborah (Ronnie) Cook of Lakeland; son: Mike (Rhonda) Thompson of Nashville; sister: Mavis Ousley of Hattisburg, MS; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 5, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard McNair, Rev. Ray Calvin and the Rev. Ed Godwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
