Richard Allan "Ricky" Mathis, 53, of Nashville died Wednesday April 22, 2020 at his residence.

He was born May 9, 1966 in Berrien County to Charlotte Boyd Dillard and the late Thomas Lankford Mathis.  He was a blueberry farmer, bee keeper and a quail guide at Southern Woods Plantation in Sylvester.  He was preceded in death by a two brothers: Russell Dean Mathis and Thomas Lamar Mathis.

He is survived by a daughter: Samantha Mathis of Nashville; mother: Charlotte Dillard of Nashville; brother: Kenneth (Holly) Mathis of Nashville; and granddaughter: Graysen Paislei Kennedy of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

The family will honor his request for cremation and a memorial service will be held Sunday May 3, 2020 in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
