Obituary

Robert Till "Bob" Spann, 76, of Nashville, died Wednesday April 9, 2014 in the Langdale Hospice House.

He was born June 15, 1937 in George Anna, Alabama to the late Guy Moore Spann and the late Ethel Louise Till. He was owner of Speciality Converting & Supply Co and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. He played football for Troy State University and South Georgia College where he was apart of Coach Bobby Bowden's first team. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1962 and was 5th in the class of engineering. He was preceded in death by his wife: Melba Spann who died in 2004 and was also preceded in death by a sister: Joy Paige and 2 brothers: Babe Spann and Leo Spann.

He is survived by his daughter: Vickey (Jonney) Warren of Nashville; son: Guy Spann and Bridgett Tillman of Nashville; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas (Jessica) Watson, Lyndsay Watson, Courtney Harper, and Colby Spann; 2 great grandchildren: Kate and Joel Watson; brother: Greely Spann of Nashville, TN.; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday April 11, 2014 at 2 PM in the Nashville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Stan Stalvey and Rev. Will Cook officiating. Visitation is Friday from Noon until hour of services. In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to the Langdale Hospice House
