Robert Charles “Robby” Young, Jr., 44, of Athens died Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

He was born February 7, 1982, in Tift County to Robert Charles Young and Betty Sue Davis Coressel. He was a Sales Rep with Alltel in Douglas, Ga for several years, percussionist, gamer and avid cook.

He was survived by his wife: Alicia Lynn Nichols Young of Athens; 2 sons: Courage Ogie of Athens and Elijah Locke Young of Athens; mother and step-father: Betty (James) Coressel of Defiance, OH; father: Robert (Mary) Young of Leary; sister: Brandi (John) Andrews of Defiance, OH; 5 brothers: Stephen (Carrie) Coressel of Lima, OH, Andrew (Elly) Coressel of Florence, SC, Andrew (Tara) Young of Carabelle, FL, Nick Young of Carabelle, FL and Justin Coressel of Defiance, OH; several nieces and nephews; supportive family of in-laws; chosen brother: Stephen Keith of Tifton; array of god children; 2 god-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 6 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Gary James and Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home Tuesday from 6 - 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind or a foster charity of your choice.
