Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Carney, 53, passed away on August 18, 2017 in Nashville, GA after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Ronnie was born February 6, 1964 in Pascagoula, MS.
Ronnie enjoyed anything to do with sports, especially Alabama football. He spent most of his adult life in Lakeland, Georgia and Mobile, Alabama. Ronnie made many friends over the years working his business. He was the proud owner of CPC "Carney Pool Cleaning". Ronnie loved his family and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Wendy Carney, father: Bobby Carney, stepfather: William "Bill" Kenney, and a nephew William "Buddy" Wade.
Ronnie is survived by his mother Margaret Kenney of Nashville, who cared for him over the past year; 3 sisters Robin (Tony) Broadway of Lakeland, Laurie (Jerry) Peacock of Headland, AL and Jane Kenney of Valdosta; 5 brothers Renick (Joni) Carney of Summerville SC, Randy (Leanna) Carney of Hurley, MS, twin brother: Richard Carney of Lakeland, Bobby (Lori) Carney of Monroe, LA and Billy Kenney of Lakeland; half brother: Lance Carney, half sister: Billie Carney and step mother: Maggie Carney all of MS; special friends: Danny and Teresa Bradford of Lakeland; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 20 at 4:30 PM in the Ray City Church of God with the Rev. Charles Blair and Rev. Dennis Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in the Mud Creek Cemetery. His brothers will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is at the church one hour prior to the service.
