Ruby Mae Walker's Obituary
Ruby Mae Herndon Walker, 98, of Ray City, died Tuesday October 25, 2011 in the South Georgia Medical Center.
She was born August 7, 1913 in Cook County to the late James Berry Herndon and the late Emily Powell. She was a homemaker and member of the Ray City United Methodist Church. She was the widow of William Penn "Bill" Walker who died in 1995 and was also preceded in death by a daughter: Barbara Powell who died in 2008.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Betty Jo (Benjie) Meeks of Ray City and Brenda (Sidney) Hobbs of St. Augustine, FL; son: William P. Walker, Jr of Ray City; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; son-in-law: Elbert (Jan) Powell of Ray City.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 28, 2011 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Russ Elkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
