Obituary

Sara Dene Brantley, 71, of Nashville, died Thursday August 11, 2022 at her residence.

She was born January 1, 1951 in Brooks County to the late Marcus Powers and the late Flora Kirkland Powers. She was a homemaker and attended the Nashville Mission. She was an avid reader, gardener, cook and especially enjoyed hosting people at her house for holiday parties. She was the last of ten children and was preceded in death by: Howard Hughes, Julia May Sirmans, Della Mae Samples, Robert Powers, James Dub Powers, W.L. Powers, Edward Powers, Resey Fountain and Stella Harnage.

She is survived by her husband: Johnny Brantley of Nashville; 2 daughters: Sherri (Roger) Herring of Ray City and Tracie (Robert) Sirmans of Nashville; 3 grandchildren: Jonathon Jones, Stone (Callie) Sirmans and Amber Sirmans; great grandson: River Jade Jones; numerous nieces and nieces.

Her family will honor her request for cremation. A memorial service will be held Sunday August 14, 2022 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Boykin officiating. Visitation is Sunday one hour prior to the services.
