Sara Willis Vickers, 84, of Nashville (Riverside Community) died Tuesday August 23, 2016 in Tift Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 18, 1931 in Worth County to the late Wilchard Jordan Willis and the late Elizabeth Chapman. She was a homemaker and retired educator with over 40 years of service at Willacoochee Elementary School. She was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Elton Vickers who died in 2005; she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Vicki Vickers. She was one of twelve brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a daughter: Susan (Alton) Exum of Nashville; 2 sons: Carlos (Judy) Vickers and Lamar (Phyllis) Vickers all of Nashville; 4 grandchildren: Denita (Eric) Davis, Bradley (Erin) Vickers , Dustin Exum and Cynthia Vickers all of Nashville; 3 great grandchildren: Noah, Hadley and Everley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 27, 2016 at 4 PM in Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Futch, Rev. Larry Stone and Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 7-9 PM.
