Sarah Brogdon, 100, of Alapaha, died Tuesday September 6, 2022 at her residence.

She was born September 29, 1921 in Berrien County to the late Zack Railey and the late Mamie Metts Railey. She was a true homemaker and worked on the family chicken farm until her death. She was the widow of Owell L. Brogdon who died in 1998 and was also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Rosie Miller and Allie Mixon; brother: Willie Railey; great granddaughter: Hannah Brogdon.

She is survived by her son: Arnold (Janie) Brogdon of Alapaha; 2 grandsons: William Brogdon of Alapaha and Winston (Lori) Brogdon of Alapaha; sister: Mamie Gaskins of Alapaha; 3 great grandchildren: Hudson, Henslee and Heidi; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday September 8, 2022 at 11 AM in the Mt. Paron cemetery with Elder Robert Tucker officiating. Visitation is Thursday in the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service.
