Scott Raymond "Tiny" Herring, 47, of Nashville, died Saturday October 15, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, FL.
He was born August 21, 1975 in Lowndes County to the late William Floyd Herring and Cynthia Jones Herring. He was a farmer, worked with the Akins family for years and also worked for Pike Creek in Adel. He was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God, was at one time the assistant chief of New Lois Fire Department and also served as acting chief for the Ray City Fire Department. Throughout his life, he never met a stranger and his legacy will continue in all those who he knew and loved.
He is survived by his mother: Cynthia Jones Herring of Nashville; wife: Christine Herring of Nashville; daughter: Allison (Doodle Bug) Herring of Nashville; special little buddy: Connor Towles of Nashville; brother: David (Brenda) Herring of Nashville; paternal grandfather: Ferrell Herring of Ray City; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday October 20, 2022 at 2 PM in the Abundant Life Assembly of God with the Rev. Eddie Tomberlin, Rev. Jessica Boyd and Rev. Chris Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the New Ramah cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday October 19, 2022 from 6 to 9 PM at the Abundant Life Assembly of God.
