Sharon Louise Walter, 81, of Nashville, died Saturday, January 31, 2026, at SGMC in Valdosta.
She was born December 2, 1944, in Corpus Christi, TX, to the late Louis Lawrence and the late Catherine Ritter Lawrence. She was a paper carrier with the Valdosta Daily Times for years and a secretary at Nashville Mills. When she moved to the Atlanta area, she started CAD Media Company and did commercial printing. She was very athletic, loved to play golf, tennis and was an avid bowler. She was indeed the "boss" of her family and know to her grandchildren as "G Mom". She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua and was the widow of Ray Walter who died in 2013. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Alan Lawrence and Michael Lawrence, son-in-law: Jimmy Carroll Garner.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Darlene Garner of Ray City and Donna Nash of Nashville; 2 sons: Tim (Amy) Nash of Monroe and Keith (Aimee) Nash of Bremen; 3 step daughters: Brenda Klein, Heather Walter and Amy Walter; step son: Rev. Doug Klein; 2 sisters: Wanda O'Neal of Mathis TX and Lorita Ford of New Braunfels, TX; 5 brothers: Gary Lawrence of Spring, TX, Dan Lawrence of Uvalde, TX, Randy Lawrence of Ackworth, Paul Lawrence of Houston, TX and David Lawrence of Uvalde, TX; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1 PM in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Visitation is Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM in the church. Interment will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on February 12, 2026, at 11 AM.
