Shirley Wood Hays, 96, of Nashville died Friday May 16, 2025, at the Fellowship Home in Nashville.

She was born January 13, 1929, in Fulton County to the late James Edward Waldrop and the late Sara Elizabeth Turner Waldrop. She was a homemaker, former secretary for the FHA Office in Valdosta, secretary for the Dorsey Oil and Propane and secretary/member of the Nashville Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husbands: Wendell Wood and William Hays; a brother and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her son: Holmes Wood of Marriottsville, MD; sister: Sandra Waldrop of Palm Desert, CA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 22, 2025, at 10 AM at the Nashville Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Addington officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Turner County. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Nashville Methodist Church.
