Shirley Jean Suggs, 86, of Omega died Thursday February 6, 2025, at her residence.

She was born January 4, 1939, in Berrien County to the late Lawernce Alexander and the late Vida Mae Luke Suggs. She was a homemaker, loved her family, flowers and everyone knew her as "Mama." She was a member of Church of God and the widow of Dewey Lee Suggs who died in 1989. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Sharon Rubio; son: Joey Suggs; 2 sisters Betty Sanders and Dorothy Alexander.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Kay (Debra) Thompson of Augusta, Lisa (Anthony) Malstrom of Elijay, Stephanie (Kike) Martinez of Omega, Felica Ortiz of Tifton; 4 sons: James Baldree of Omega, John Thompson of Adel, Jerry Suggs of Newton, and JJ Suggs of Omega; 32 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; brother: Jerry Alexander of Colorado Springs, CO.

Funeral services will be held Sunday February 9, 2025, at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Milford McClain and Rev. Ronnie Sanders officiating. Interment will be Monday February 10, 2025, at 2 PM in Vickers Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
