Rev. Dr. Swinton D. Futch, 86, of Lake Wales, FL, died Monday April 10, 2023 at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1936 in Atkinson County to the late Henry Turner "Dumps" Futch and the late Georgia Louise Bradford Futch. He was a retired Baptist minister, member of the Church on the Hill in Dundee, FL and a graduate of New Orleans Theological Seminary. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Patty Anderson and Marie Beeman; 2 brothers: Winslow Futch and Cordell Futch.

He is survived by his wife: Grace Phillips Futch of Lake Wales, FL; daughter: Catherine (Gregg) Simmons of Siler City, NC; 3 sons: David (Amy) Futch of St. Augustine, FL, Adam (Tammy) Griffin of Palatka, FL and Scott Griffin of Lake Wales, FL; sister: Carolyn Grubaugh of Atlanta; 2 brothers: Roy Futch of Jacksonville, FL and Carrol Futch of Nashville; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 15, 2023 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Link officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
