Theodore Ross "Ted" Owen, 75 of Alapaha, died Sunday August 27, 2023 at the Fellowship Home in Nashville.

He was born April 11, 1948 in Tift County to the late Troy Everett Owen and the late Ethel Rhodes Owen. He was a former Cotton States agent and owner of the Trophy Shop. He was a member of the Alapaha Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a huge supporter and booster for Berrien Athletics, a Mason in Duncan Lodge #234 and loved playing golf with his friends. He was preceded in death by a brother: Eddie Owen.

He is survived by his daughter: Kerri (J.D.) Dean of Valdosta; son: Shane (Ann) Owen of Alpharetta; sister: Maerita Adams of Lake Park; 3 grandchildren: John Laurent Dean, Jacks Dean and Ethan Owen; sister-in-law: Bonnie Owen of Alapaha; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday August 31, 2023 at 11 AM in the Alapaha Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott King officiating. Interment will follow in the Fletcher cemetery. Visitation is Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service.
