Obituary

Thomas Garthel "Tommie" Vickers, Jr. 86, of Alapaha, died Friday December 23, 2022 at his residence.

He was born June 27, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Thomas Garthel Vickers and the late Jennie Vee Cribb Vickers. He was a retired pattern drawer with the former Nashville Textile and Taylormade. He graduated from Berrien High School in 1956, played basketball and has always supported the team. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by a brother: Weyman Vickers.

He is survived by his wife: Martha Ann Vickers of Alapaha; 2 daughters: Lynn (Brett) Wilson of Commerce and Tommie Ann Stone of Alapaha; 6 grandsons: Jud (Amanda) Ott, Josh (Sara) Ott, Brice (Tatum) Wilson, Clay (Shelby) Wilson and Garrett (Taylor) Wilson; 5 great grandchildren: Greyson, Memphis, Adelynn, Joshie and Braxton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 24, 2022 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Vickers cemetery. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church or Scottish Rite Hospital.
