Vanessa Lea Strickland, 62, of Nashville, died Saturday July 23, 2016 in Tift Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 29, 1954 to Leo Polumbo and Ruth Polumbo. She was a homemaker, had been employed with Get-N-Go Stores in Nashville and was of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her son: Benny Strickland, Jr; mother: Jacqueline Polumbo; 2 sisters: Donna Johnson and Cindy Woodham.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Michelle (Tater) Stover of Nashville, Vanessa (Jerry) Frazier of Statenville, Jackie (Tim) Harrell of Nashville and Linda (David) Toliver of Nashville; 3 sons: Gary (Cindy) Boatwright of Nashville, Larry Carver of Nashville, Daniel (Carrie) Foskey of Nashville; father and mother: Leo and Ruth Polumbo of Winterhaven, FL; 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister: Roxie Purse of Winterhaven, FL; brother: Leo Polumbo of Winterhaven, FL; best friend: Beth Bulington of Nashville.
The family will honor her request for cremation. There will be a visitation on Tuesday July 26, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
