Velma Griner, 81, of Nashville died Tuesday March 6, 2012 in the Berrien Nursing Center.
She was born February 1, 1931 in Berrien County to the late Leonard William Griner and the late Ruth Griffin. She was a homemaker, former sales clerk with Berrien Drugs and was also retired from Nashville Mills. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Harvey Edward Griner and was also preceded in death by a daughter: Delores Ray, a granddaughter: Tracy Polino, and a brother: Elmon Griner.
She is survived by her grandson: Roy "Mark" Ray III of Nashville; 2 great grandsons: Justin Brown and Logan Polino both of Nashville; brother: Hilton Griner of Nashville; sister-in-law: Vernell Griner of Alapaha.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday March 8, 2012 at 3 PM in the Rowetown Cemetery with the Rev. Jackie Connell and the Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Visitation is Thursday from noon until 2:30 PM.
