Vernon Ethridge Rice, 79, of Nashville died Thursday July 14, 2016 at his residence.
He was born October 14, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Perry Franklin Rice and the late Annie Belle Griffin. He was retired from the bridge construction industry, loved Bluegrass Music/ pick-ins, festivals and fishing. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Walter, Carl, Harvey, and Lankford Rice; 2 sisters: Orlando Abbott and Agnes Taylor.
He is survived by 3 daughter: Debbie (Bryan) Carlson, Paula Jo Rice, and Pam (Mike) Shultz all of Tampa, FL; 2 granddaughters: Jody Carlson and Sara Winstead; 2 great grandsons: Jacob and Brayden; special friend and caregiver: Debra Brogdon of Nashville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 19, 2016 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Guthrie Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 AM until hour of services.
