Virdie Nell Johnson, 69, of Nashville died Tuesday August 12, 2014 in the Cook Medical Center.
She was born September 27, 1944 in Wachula, FL to the late Ellis Platt and the late Sarah Lucille Lee. She was employed with the Berrien County Hospital in housekeeping and was also employed with Glasstream Boats and Nashville Textile and was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by a daughter: Katherine Rowell Johnson; 2 brothers: Joseph and L.V. Platt; and a sister: Thelma Roberts.
She is survived by her husband: Sammy "Sam" Johnson of Nashville; 2 sons: Wayne (Lisa) Johnson of Nashville and Chris Johnson of Nashville; 2 grandchildren: Michael and Breanna McCall; 2 sisters: Joyce (James) Fletcher of Perry, FL and Lois Buesing of Titusville, FL; 2 brothers: Franklin (Faye) Platt of Jacksonville, FL and Kenneth (Diane) Platt of Lake City, FL; 2 sisters-in-law: Cheryl Platt of Inverness, FL and Katherine Platt of Dublin.
The family will honor her request for cremation. A memorial service will be held Saturday August 16, 2014 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Terron Stonecypher officiating.
