Virgil Mathis' Obituary
Virgil Mathis, age 69 of Nashville, died Friday November 4 in the South Georgia Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sutton Mathis of Nashville; daughter, Elissa (Revis) Griffis of Nashville; 4 grandchildren, Logan & Landon Griffis, De-Ila & Ashley Mathis; 3 sisters, Ethel Lee Root of Myrtle Beach, SC, Norma Hall of Warner Robins & Vivian Merchant of Marietta; 4 brothers, L.B. Mathis of Homeland, Fl, Talmadge Mathis of Orlando, Fl, Onest Mathis of Stockbridge & Wendell Mathis of Rome.
He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Mathis who died in 2003, 2 sisters & 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 7 at 2 pm in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. Dukes,III officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday 6-8 pm.
