Walter Denzil "Denny" Gaskins, age 80 of Franklin, NC, formerly of Valdosta, died Monday May 2 at the residence of his daughter.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Hall Gaskins of Franklin, NC; son, Danny (Doris) Gaskins of Tifton; daughter, Lisa (John) Kumpik of Valdosta; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a special granddaughter; 3 sisters, Betty Jean Tumbleson of Eustis Fl, Imo Jean Smith of Sebring, Fl and Juanita Cameron of Leesburg, Fl; 3 brothers, Leo Gaskins of Wachula, Fl, Lincoln Gaskins of Alapaha and Kenneth Gaskins of Naylor.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Briston, James, Jesse and Hubert Gaskins and 2 sisters; Emma Adams and Eula Mae Brown.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 5 at 2pm in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Simmons, Rev. Charlie Scarbrough and Dr. Deane Mink officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery.
