Walter "Sonny" Carter, 75, of West Berrien died Sunday February 15, 2015 at his residence.
He was born September 7, 1939 in Tift County to the late Walter L. Carter and the late Bernice Spinks Carter. He was a retired farmer and a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Billy Carter and Donald Carter.
He is survived by his wife: Freda Rutland Carter of West Berrien; daughter: Nikki (Noah) Coker of Athens; grandson: Isaac Noah Coker of Athens; sister: Patricia Harper of West Berrien; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Brantley Seymour officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Dialysis Center at Tift Regional Medical Center.
