Obituary

Walter Ebb Spikes, 79, of Nashville, died Friday July 25, 2025, at his residence.

He was born December 3, 1945, in Berrien County to the late William Henry Spikes and the late Frances Lee Garren Spikes. He was a retired machinist/extrusion with Nashville Mills and member of the Nashville Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, served in Vietnam and retired as a Tech Sergeant from the Air Force Reserves after 33 years of total service. He was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Benson and 2 brothers: Carroll Spikes and Wendell Spikes.

He is survived by his wife: Linda Exum Spikes of Nashville; daughter: Brandi (Brian) Griner of Nashville; son: Jon (Rachel) Spikes of Green River, WY and Mark (Shelley) Spikes of New York, NY; 4 grandchildren: Taylor (Colin) Chrestman, Bridger Spikes, Branson Spikes and Matthew Spikes; 2 sisters: Katherine Moore of Nashville and Bernice (Don) Wilkerson of Tifton; 4 brothers: William H. (Margaret) Spikes, Jr of Douglas, Winston (Donna) Spikes of Ocilla, Tommy (Cheryl) Spikes of Nashville and Teddy (Polly) Spikes of Enigma; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday July 28, 2025, at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Mr. Andrew Dunn, Mr. Andy Solomon and Mr. Jon Spikes officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation is Monday in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
