Richard Wayne Strickland, 74, of Nashville, died Thursday January 10, 2019 in the Lakeland Villa.

He was born November 6, 1944 in Birmingham, AL to the late Merle Vickery Sullivan.

He was a retired administrator with the Berrien County Board of Education and a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church.  Wayne, "Pa," loved spending time with his friends on the golf course, at the mechanic shop, the game of football, woodworking, and his family.  He was passionate about education and building young people.

He is survived by his wife: Gayle Rackley Strickland of Nashville; 3 sons: Rich Strickland of Fayetteville, AR, Dr. Eric (Tanya) Flynt of Watkinsville and Taylor (Elisa) Strickland of Nashville; 4 grandchildren: Sara Kate Flynt, Greysen Strickland, Shepherd Flynt and Annalee Strickland; 2 sisters: Betty Nelson of Macon and Teresa Munroe of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 12, 2019 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Mr. Taylor Strickland and Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, family asked contributions be made to Berrien High School (500 E. Smith Ave. Nashville, GA 31639).
