Charles Wendell Taylor, 73, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Nashville.
He was born June 17, 1953, in Irwin County to the late Joseph David “J.D.’ Taylor and the late Sara Reabeth Harper Taylor. He was the owner and operator of Nashville Enterprise, his main priority in life, was to provide for his family and his grandchildren were his life. To know him was to love him, he would give you the shirt off his back and if you were a friend, you were a friend for life. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and simply shooting the breeze with his friends. He was preceded in death by a sister: Sandra Kent and a step sister: Daphne Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Evelyn Harper Taylor of Valdosta; 2 daughters: Melissa (Troy) Taylor of Nashville and Wendy (Jeff) Tuttle of Nashville; son: Chad (Mandy) Taylor of Valdosta; 2 brothers: David (Terry) Taylor of Nashville and Joey Taylor of St. Simons Island; 6 grandchildren: Caden Taylor, Courson Taylor, Gavin Taylor, Madalon Taylor, Breanna Tuttle and Jeffrey Tuttle; 4 great grandchildren: Kyren, Amyia, Aslynn and Jaxson; close lifelong friend: Winston Cook of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Capers officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
