Herman Wesley Griner, 74, of Nashville, died Monday February 19, 2024 at the PAM Health Speciality Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
He was born August 1, 1949 in Berrien County to the late June T. Griner and the late Rhoda Alene Nash Griner. He was a former police chief for the City of Nashville and a retired investigator with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office, with over 30 years of service. He was a farmer and United States Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife: Andrea Blakenship Griner who died in 2023.
He is survived by his daughter: Velvet (Rodney) Hobbs of Nashville; son: Jason (Beverly) Griner of Gaum; step son: Ken (Cassie) Hammer of Nashville; 2 sisters: Hilda Lewis of Adel and Inell (Vinson) Griffin of Alapaha; brother: James (June) Griner of Nashville; 4 grandchildren: Christian Arnett, Bud Griner, Jonah Griner and Noah Hobbs; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday February 24, 2024 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Swain officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
