Obituary

William Gordon "Bill" Summerlin, 89, of Nashville, died Saturday November 11, 2017 at his residence.

He was born October 3, 1928 in Waycross to the late William Hoyt Summerlin and the late Annie Eliza Buckley Summerlin Tuten. He retired from the City of Nashville with over 30 years of faithful service and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Tifton. He also dispatched for the City of Nashville, Berrien County Sheriff's Office and Berrien County EMS for numerous years. He served in the United States Navy, Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by 7 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 great granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Jean Ray Summerlin of Nashville; 3 daughters: Jane (Richard) Creamer of Ray City, Mary (Donnie) Keeffe of Lakeland and Bernice (Travis) Brown of Nashville; sister: Martha James of Jacksonville, FL; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; numerous sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Rickey Wells and the Rev. Danny Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
