William Otis "Butch" Adams, Jr.,45 of Nashville, died Sunday January 5, 2014 in the South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born December 10, 1968 in Lowndes County to William Otis Adams and Diane Tillman. He was employed with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office as a jailor. His law enforcement career began with the Nashville Police Department . He later served as an officer for Ray City Police Department and as a deputy with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office. He faithfully served in law enforcement until he was injured in an automobile accident in the line of duty. He had also served on the Nashville Fire Department and the Berrien County Search and Rescue. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland.
He is survived by his wife: Annette Ley Adams of Nashville; 2 sons: William Lee Adams and Andrew Ryan Adams both of Nashville; mother: Diane (Roy) Bamburg of Troupeville; father: Bill (Patricia) Adams of Nashville; brother: Steve (Joella) Adams of Nashville; father-in-law and mother-in-law: William O. (Billy) and Debra N. Ley of Quitman; sister-in-law: Stacey (Michael) Burton of Quitman; brother-in-law: Jeffery (Kristen) Ley of Naylor; 2 step sisters: Patty (David) Seaton of Snellville and Missy (Jim) Erickson of Orange Park FL; step brother: Matthew Bamburg of Troupeville; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 8, 2014 at 11 AM in the Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Austin Deloach officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
